After treatment, many people feel a sense of calm, clarity, and improved sleep. Occasionally, you may feel a little tired or emotional—that’s just your body rebalancing.
Aftercare Tips:
Drink plenty of water
Avoid heavy exertion or alcohol for the rest of the day
Pay attention to how you feel—changes may be subtle but meaningful
Most conditions benefit from a short course of treatments (4–6 sessions), though some clients notice a shift after just one.

The number of acupuncture treatments needed varies depending on your individual condition, how long you've had it, and your overall health and lifestyle. Some people notice improvement after just one or two sessions, while others with more chronic or complex issues may benefit from a course of 4–6 weekly treatments to start.
For ongoing or long-term support—such as managing chronic pain, hormonal imbalances, stress and anxiety, or fertility concerns—acupuncture often works best when integrated as part of a regular wellness routine.
During your initial consultation, I’ll create a tailored treatment plan based on your unique needs and health goals. We’ll review progress as we go to ensure you’re getting the best results.

Acupuncture is generally not painful. Most people find the treatment to be deeply relaxing and often report only a mild tingling, dull ache, or a slight sensation as the ultra-fine needles are inserted. These sensations are a sign that your body’s energy—known as Qi—is being activated.
The needles used are much thinner than those used for injections or blood tests—about the width of a human hair—and are designed to be as gentle as possible. If you’re concerned about sensitivity or have a fear of needles, I’ll always work at your pace and ensure you feel comfortable at every stage of your session.
Many patients are surprised at how calm and grounded they feel after acupuncture, making it a powerful support for those seeking stress relief, anxiety reduction, and overall wellbeing.

Yes, acupuncture is a safe and well-regulated form of complementary healthcare when performed by a qualified practitioner. I am fully trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Acupuncture, and a registered member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC). I use only sterile, single-use, disposable needles to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Acupuncture has been safely used for thousands of years to treat a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain and stress to fertility support, migraines, and digestive health. When carried out by a trained professional, side effects are extremely rare and usually mild, such as slight bruising or temporary soreness at the needle site.
If you're looking for a natural, drug-free, and evidence-based therapy, acupuncture is a safe and effective option for promoting holistic wellbeing and long-term health.

Yes, acupuncture works safely and effectively alongside conventional medical treatments. Many of my patients choose to integrate acupuncture into their existing healthcare plans to support a wide range of conditions—including chronic pain, anxiety, fertility challenges, digestive disorders, and hormonal imbalances. As a complementary therapy, acupuncture can enhance the effectiveness of medications, ease side effects, and promote overall wellbeing.
I’m trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Acupuncture, offering a holistic approach that respects and complements modern medicine. Whether you're undergoing IVF, managing a long-term illness, or recovering from surgery, acupuncture can support your healing process, improve energy levels, and reduce stress.
Always inform your GP or healthcare provider about any complementary therapies you are receiving to ensure the best coordinated care.

The Association of Acupuncture Clinicians is recognised by several private health insurers. If you have private health cover, it’s a good idea to check with your provider to see if acupuncture is included in your policy and what’s covered.
